On deep green, a crane stretches its neck among plum blossoms in vermilion red. The plum opens early, while the cold still lingers; the crane has long stood for a long life and for ties that hold.
The silk comes from an obi that had seen many years, remade into this cover by hand. Its cloth went into this piece and no other.
